It kind of feels like it was only just the other day that we were at the last Passion for Speed which only took place in June of 2021 thanks to COVID-19 instead of at the end of January as is the norm. Well, it is upon us once again and this time around it seems Omicron is not having its way with us this time around.

With 2021 slowly coming to an end and having participated in very little racing for various reasons including the lows of the COVID-19 pandemic, RBR took a decision to do something different in 2020 already.

After long and hard decisions were taken for numerous reasons, we have an agreement that my TOMEI TS Sunny project will be moved and to be completed in Gauteng. This has been a very long-term project based on the Hirota TS Sunny TOMEI car in Japan.

March 26, 2020, and the South African government made the unexpected announcement that we would be going into lockdown LEVEL 5 so as to limit and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Never did it cross my mind at that moment that this was not going to be a quick turnaround. It also did not cross my mind at that specific moment that things were unlikely ever to be the same as they were before and that a new normal would emerge from this worldwide pandemic which was now killing people from all walks of life across the globe.
